Terms and Conditions
1. Agreement & Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions form a binding agreement between you (“Customer”) and Solar Masters for the supply and installation of a energy system (“System”).
By accepting a quotation, paying a deposit, or proceeding with installation, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
2. Customer Eligibility & Authority
By entering into this agreement, you confirm that:
- You are at least 18 years of age;
- You are the legal owner of the property, or authorised by the owner;
- You have full authority to approve installation at the nominated address.
You also confirm that all information provided to Solar Masters is accurate and complete.
You authorise Solar Masters to:
- Submit grid connection and regulatory applications on your behalf;
- Communicate with electricity distributors and relevant third parties.
3. Cooling-Off Period
You are entitled to a 10-business-day cooling-off period under Australian Consumer Law.
- Cancellation must be provided in writing (email or post);
- After this period, the agreement becomes legally binding.
4. Pricing & Payment Terms
- Quotations are valid for 7 days unless otherwise stated;
- A 20% deposit is required to secure your booking;
- The remaining balance must be paid upon delivery of goods or installation team arrival;
Additional conditions:
- Credit card payments may incur applicable surcharges;
- Ownership of the System remains with Solar Masters until full payment is received.
Late or Non-Payment :
Solar Masters reserves the right to:
- Charge interest at 18% per annum on outstanding balances;
- Apply late payment fees;
- Recover debt collection costs & Legal cost;
- Remove installed equipment at your expense.
5. Finance Arrangements
Where finance is involved:
- You remain liable for full payment if finance approval is declined;
- Late payments may incur interest and recovery costs;
- Warranties may be suspended where accounts remain unpaid.
IMPORTANT: This Agreement is not regulated by the Commonwealth NCCP Act 2009. As a result: a. If you have a complaint about the Agreement you may not have access to the services of an external dispute resolution scheme that has been approved by ASIC. This means that you may have to go to court to resolve a dispute with the provider b. If you have trouble paying the periodic payments required under this Agreement: i. You may not have the right to ask the provider for a hardship variation to help you get through your financial difficulty. ii. The provider may take action against you for non-payment without giving you an opportunity to remedy the fault. Questions and complaints about the Agreement should be directed to the provider,
6. Government Incentives (STCs)
Eligible systems may qualify for Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs).
You acknowledge that:
- STCs may be traded or sold at market or clearing house rates;
- You may retain your STCs or assign them to Solar Masters for an upfront discount.
If assigning STCs:
- You transfer all rights to Solar Masters;
- Discounts are based on estimated STC values and may vary;
- Final pricing may change accordingly.
You warrant that:
- No prior STCs have been created or assigned for this system or property;
- You will not take any action that reduces STC eligibility;
- No prior government battery rebate has been claimed at the property (where applicable).
7. System Design & Expected Performance
You acknowledge that:
- Optimal output is generally achieved with north-facing panels and minimal shading;
- System performance is influenced by weather, roof orientation, shading, and seasonal factors;
- Any production or savings estimates are indicative only and not guaranteed.
Solar Masters will install the system in the most practical configuration based on site conditions.
8. Installation Requirements & Site Access
You agree to:
- Provide safe, clear, and timely access to the property;
- Communicate installation preferences prior to commencement;
- Sign required documentation on installation day.
You acknowledge that:
- Temporary power interruptions may occur;
- 2.4GHZ Wi-Fi access is required for system monitoring and is your responsibility.
9. Delivery, Variations & Additional Charges
If site conditions differ from the original quotation:
- Any variations will be discussed and approved before proceeding;
- Additional costs may apply for non-standard installations.
Examples include (but are not limited to):
- Switchboard, meter box, or wiring upgrades;
- Roof safety requirements (e.g., steep pitch, special materials);
- Additional cabling;
- Access limitations or return visits.
If panels cannot be installed due to site constraints, a $50 per panel reduction will apply (net of STCs).
10. Metering & Electrical Compliance
Unless explicitly included:
- Meter box and switchboard upgrades are not part of the quoted price;
- You are responsible for ensuring electrical compliance.
You acknowledge that:
- Additional upgrade costs may arise;
- Electricity tariff structures may change after installation.
11. Installation Timeframes & Delays
Installation dates are estimates only.
Delays may occur due to:
- Weather conditions;
- Material shortages or supply delays;
- Installer availability;
- Customer-related factors.
Solar Masters reserves the right to:
- Adjust installation schedules;
- Charge reasonable costs for customer-caused delays;
- Cancel the contract if installation becomes unfeasible (full refund provided).
12. Roofing & Property Disclaimer
While all reasonable care is taken, you acknowledge:
- Tiled roofs: Tiles may crack or break during installation;
- Metal roofs: Older or corroded roofs may be vulnerable;
- Decromastic roofs: Installation is not recommended and is undertaken at your risk;
- Asbestos roofs: Installation is subject to approval and entirely at your risk.
Solar Masters is not liable for:
- Pre-existing damage or structural issues;
- Impact on roof warranties;
- Damage not caused by installer negligence.
13. Warranties
Product Warranty
All equipment is covered by manufacturer warranties.
Electrical components carry a minimum 12-month warranty, unless otherwise specified.
Workmanship Warranty
Solar Masters provides:
- 12-year installation warranty;
- 5-year performance assurance period.
During this time, we will repair or replace defective workmanship at no cost within a reasonable timeframe.
Warranty Conditions
This warranty does not apply if:
- The system is altered without approval;
- Maintenance requirements are not followed;
- Damage occurs due to external factors (e.g., severe weather);
- Full payment has not been made.
Roof leaks must be reported within 6 months in writing.
14. Risk & Ongoing Responsibilities
You acknowledge that:
- STC values and feed-in tariffs are outside Solar Masters’ control;
- System performance and financial savings are not guaranteed.
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining and cleaning the system;
- Insuring the system after installation;
- Ensuring electrical compliance where required.
Solar Masters is only liable for damage resulting from installer negligence.
It is customer's responsibility to monitor the system performance on a regular basis and report any doubts or issues to Solar Masters. No compensation is payable for system downtime.
15. Privacy & Confidentiality
Your personal information will only be used to:
- Process your installation and approvals;
- Facilitate STC applications.
Solar Masters does not sell your personal data but may contact you regarding related products and services.
16. Refund Policy
You may be eligible for a full refund where:
- Installation is delayed beyond 3 months due to Solar Masters;
- Grid connection is declined;
- Substitute equipment is not accepted.
17. Access to Property
You grant Solar Masters and its representatives permission to access the property at reasonable times to complete installation and associated works.
18. Limitation of Liability
Solar Masters is not responsible for:
- Loss of energy production or expected savings;
- Damage arising from external factors or pre-existing conditions;
- Interruptions to system operation.
19. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

Process:
- Complaint acknowledgement upon receipt;
- Response within 14 business days;
- Resolution within 30 days where required.
If unresolved, you may escalate the matter to your relevant state consumer authority.
